Through this TLEF project, Dr. Cinda Hereen, Senior Instructor in Computer Science, was supported in updating “Open Data Structures” Abstract Data Types, a reorganization and modernization of an open content textbook called Open Data Structures(ODS) by Pat Morin. The new text will refocus the classic content of ODS on data structure design by presenting Abstract Data Types as interfaces for which creating and critiquing algorithmic solutions.
The reorganized text will be augmented with online tools for algorithm exploration, and with new exercises specifically targeted at the learning objectives of the course, Computing Science 221. The text is freely available online.
